Learn about different types of processors, hard drives, bus slots, memory, controllers, power supplies, and techniques on how to troubleshoot PCs. Students will perform memory upgrades, modify CMOS, install floppy and CD-ROM drives; set up DOS, Windows 98 and other operating systems on AMD/Intel systems while utilizing each system’s built-in tools. Course will help provide a hardware foundation for other certification classes.

Computer Operation Practice

Computer Operation Practice class is offered at no additional cost for students enrolled in any PC class offered by Tri-Community Adult Education. Instructor assistance is provided. Certain computer classes require lab attendance.

Minimum attendance is required. Space is limited and computers are available on a “first come, first served” basis. Proof of registration in a computer class is required and must be presented each time students attend the Computer Operation Practice class.
