Rotary 4 Way Speech Contest
On March 24th, South Hills High School and Northview High School students competed along with students from Charter Oak High School at the Covina Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest. South Hills High School was represented by Melina Cabrera and Northview High School by Gabriela Delgado and Nicholas DaBella.
Each student did an outstanding job connecting their vision of the topic "Be a Gift to the World" to the 4 tenets of the Rotary:
"Of the things we think, say or do:
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
Gabriela Delgado received a $200 scholarship for second place for her speech. Melina Cabrera received a $300 scholarship for her first place speech. Melina will continue on to the next level of competition at the Group level of Rotary. We wish her the very best of luck!
We are very proud of these outstanding C-VUSD students!
